Did I miss something? A check of all links, safety wires, nuts, bolts, cotter keys and torque strip is standard pre-flight stuff. Is there some un-seeable condition affecting 429 pitch links?
I don’t fly them and have never seen one up close. |

the FAA posted an AD the same day as the accident does not mean that it had anything to do with the accident or that it even applied to the accident aircraft. The FAA usually lags behind the manufacturer by several months when issuing ADs...by then Bell Helicopter has already issued an ASB for the problem...so if the aircraft was affected by that AD it may already have been completed by complying with an ASB. |

The NTSB guy, "...McCarter noted that the tail boom that contains the tail rotor separated from the helicopter and was found 300 feet from the main wreckage."
Since when does a tail rotor problem cause the *tailboom* to come off? |
