Enough big names and big companies are getting behind the reality of the shortage and offering jobs and benies like never before.  Don't miss out if you've done your research and think this might be right for you!

At a minimum, you could walk away with an ATP and some prime instrument jet experience that will do your career good for the future if it doesn't float your boat after all!!!

I'm sure this is true.  On the other hand, the guy trying to sell me a car today has been furloughed from United for a year and a half.

Love seeing this...... Thanks for sharing the article. Long time coming. Remember when pay was so low at the reginals that the crews had part time jobs at Starbucks! (Colgan air SIC /Bufalo NY accident) ... Most could not weather the low pay and left the industry and or went corporate. Then we have our Highly skilled HR "Team" who often float from industry to industry ( Health care, Management, Tech..etc)reeking  havoc and leaving dumpster fires at every turn while simultaneously juggling facebook posts while sending you minutia riddeled emails...

All of this coming home to roost.... You cant download exceptional fying skills within a 3 year upgrade  window sorry...

Alot of tribal knowledge transfered to fledgling aviators while sitting next to a seasoned captain for many years.

This will no longer happen. Two rookies now asking each other ...type1 or type2 decie? wait when did our holdover time start? at the time he started deicing us or upon completion? should we go outside and do a tactile exam? Inversion at 7,000 feet ? what about roll back Iceing????? MOMMY HELP!!!!!!

advice..... if weather is bad DRIVE.

UAL furloughed ZERO pilots during the covid downturn.  You are either deliberately lying, or just making stuff up to make yourself feel better about your life choices.  either way, stop spreading disinformation.

Last time UAL furloughed was in 2009

and he'll get a call to come back when they hit his senority number.  Doesn't matter if he hasn't flown 1hr since furlough, they'll train him back to standards.  He'll be back flying the line with the same senority number and he'll go back with a pay raise same as he would have gotten had he not been furloughed.  It's a boring job compared to helicopters but their is no comparrison for pay and benefits compared to a United pilot.
