How power limited are you compared to a 407?  What's your MGW and useful load after medcrew and fuel?  How many gal are you at at base?

Seems to me the 407 can stay full tank and still take a 300+ patient (on the pad).  The 130 can only keep 90-100 gal (out of 140 possible) and then can only typically take a 200-230ish patient on the pad.  I've heard the 135 has issue.  145 has no issues.

Just curious how a little pedal-car like the 206 fares in this world.

can almost do what a 407 does but it's a little more work and slower. if you ain't going too far, the L4 works just fine. no fatties, though.

The L4 is a beast compared to the L1,2, and 3.  Our BOW is just under 3,000, and with 500lbs fuel, 600lbs heavy crew, we can still haul a 330lb pt without pulling more than 92% tq.  It's not fast or pretty, but the L4 is a very reliable workhorse, too bad Bell has stopped production.

There was something called a "LongRanger II" but it was really just a 206L-1 (the one with the C-28). Bell knew they screwed up the branding, so the next model was simply called the 206L-III.  And when Bell turned up the horsepower of the C30P and upped the MGW to 4450, they called that model the L-IV.  You can upgrade the L-1 with mo' powa, baby!  PHI stuck a C30P in the L-1 and called it a 206L*3.  And on and on...

L-IVs are cheaper to buy, slower to fly, great in the high country with the big T/R.

There was at one time a 206BII.  It was a flop and discontinued.

Well first the thread was about 206L4 and it wandered some but never got away from from LONG Rangers.

Now you post "There was at one time a 206BII.  It was a flop and discontinued. " and that was a untrue statement too.  The " 206BII" was the same 206B (400 horsepower C20) with a new more compact panel.  It worked well and all till the put a C20B or J (420 HP)and called it Macaroni... no they called it a 206BIII

They also made a few 206BII with a C20R 450 horsepower, still a 206BIII

Back to Long Rangers the L4 has higher temperature limits and that gives to performance figures a boost over a L3. Minor other improvements too.

they stopped production.  There's a reason they did and it's because the L4 is underperforming in its class.
