They were told to get an EV because it would be cheaper? I don't know whether to call them(the get EV guys) boneheads, blockheads, knuckleheads(not the HD engine), Airhead, buckethead, butthead, or beavis.

I got me a civic and it really doesn't cost me any more to drive it as a year ago. The pickup guys never learn.

It doesn't matter what electricity is going to cost those communists, they will vote to kill gas and diesel on the west coast.

The left coast is wealthy enough to make an electricity payment as big as their monthly payment on their $100,000.00 Tesla. Something's got to give.

Gavin Newsom " We will be all electric cars by 2030, zero emissions, but please charge between 2am and 3am. Our power grid can't handle it

Everyone will be the same in years to come. Govt will give you vouchers for housing and cars that they will own. It will be lower class provisions to "help" you, while every dime is taxed from anybody else that has monetary means, then, same provisions to them also. Those that can work will be required where needed, or lose said provisions. Isn't communisim great or what...

I spend between $400 - $500 in gasoline every month.  With an EV, that cost would go away. I don't live in California (why would anyone!)) and my electric bill would have to literally skyrocket to exceed what I'm paying for now in gasoline. Plus, with an EV there are no "associated" costs of operation. Like, ohhh, say your fuel pump or water pump goes bad, or the electic cooling fans behind the radiator, or the radiator itself!  Not to mention thermostats that still go bad, or coolant hoses that break and trash the engine when it overheats.  Also, no O2 sensors or catalytic converters or muffflers to need replacement.  The only "consumable" really is tires (not even brakes thanks to regenerative braking).  Thus, in the long run, the cost of operation of an EV is lower overall that that of even a Honda Civic, say.  Subtract all of those ancillary costs of operating an ICE vehicle, and the scales tip way in favor of the EV.

Your battery pack. $22,000.00 was the last estimate I saw. Also, the motors are definitely going to need to be replaced. Don't get in an accident. If the battery pack gets compromised, the car will burn to the ground. Guys I know with Teslas are having all kinds of problems from them, mostly manufacturing defects, or overlooked assembling. Range, remote charging, traffic jams in cold weather are among other problems. No, the idea that the electric car has arrived is a myth. It's just a white elephant for now.

I'm sure people said that about the VS-300 too.  "The idea that the helicopter has arrived is a myth.  It's just a white elephant for right now."

Do you have an ev? You sound like a fan of them and spend a lot on fuel. If no ev why not?

Yes I do spend a lot in gas every month. I talked with a woman who owns a Tesla and she was raving about how great it was and how much she loved it, telling me all of the advantages over a ICE car including things I had not considered, like how her only expense has been for tires. Yes I am a fan of them and yes I will buy one soon. It's nice that we have choices in America!

have a choice.  I would hope you've at least taken a baby step and purchased an electric golf cart to make those pesky short runs to the store for some odds and ends.
