do you still not believe in the pilot shortage??

there has never been a better time in my lifetime to become an airline pilot.  The legacies and majors are hiring in record numbers and there isn't enough pilots to feed the regionals.

for those of you that decide to stay in the RW community, hopefully the hiring on the FW side helps increase your salary and benefits too.  You certainly deserve it.

You airline types never discuss the amount of time away from home you spend. I'm not just talking about your scheduled line trips, but commutes back and fourth, days in a hotel, and hours waiting in airports. Is your pay worth the time away? My sources say sometimes. A few folks are only still married BECAUSE the time away from home. Just wondering.

Home time in season. Neither do Ag guys. EMS guys might be able to get home a lot, until the base closes.

Yeah... 17-19 days off a month at 160K-390K/ year with a few vacation months working only 6-10 days.  It's Horrible!!!

overnights in nice towns at 4-5 star hotels, with good food.  It's BRUTAL!

No helmets, No Oil Rigs, Air Conditioned aircraft, No LOUSIANA?!!

Oh the humanity, Don't DO IT!  Stay in that tralier for 7 days straight 2X a month for 60K! You earned that luxurious QOL! Enjoy my hero!

Legacy pilot here. Did 7 years SPIFR EMS, left making...69k for 182.5 days of work. $378 a day. 12hr shifts with commute time added in so basically very little time at home while on the 7 day shift.

year 3 pay at a legacy airline: 250k. get this: no week nds for me and no holidays. I commute but work when my kids dont have crap going on. Ems was half weekends and half holidays. Stupid to stay flying ems
