Was woken from my sleep with a really painful leg cramp. Then again this morning when putting on my boots. I had to stretch my leg out to relieve yhe pain, hope it doesn't happen when flying. Anyone have that happen?

Had similar issues, could be a sign of dehydration. It may have you getting up more at night but I found it pretty much eliminated the issue. Along with those nasty morning sinus headaches. Most don't drink half the water required. And stay off the soft drinks, Ice tea, ect. Stretching is always good also and when sitting, keep the legs off the dest. Found that out the hard way also. Best

That being said , I have pulled Hamstring a couple of times and had similar issues. Toe touch exercise helped.. plenty of Hamstring Stretch exercises on YouTube.

More bananas might help restoring potassium levels. Low potassium can lead to cramps. Gatorade has extra electrolytes. In my football days during 2 a day practice phase, I would get them while sleeping. If you are doing a lot of legwork in the gym, you might be overdoing your exercise routine.

If you're on cholesterol lowering medication, that might be the culprit.

1. Could be dehydration

2. Statins could cause this

3. Leg cramps increase as we get older (while sleeping) - Sometimes a sign of diabetes (neropathy), but guessing you get regular blood work and check your fasting blood glucose and A1C and you're not peeing sugar at your medical?

4. Some other types of neuropathy

5. could be an imbalance of Calcium, potassium, or magnesium

A lot of people who eat Fish have high levels of Mercury - The Mercury acts as a binding agent to a lot of nutrients your body needs...and can cause issues in the body. There are hair tests you can do to measure that and the other elements in your body. www.byronhealthandhealing.com - The guy is a miracle worker. He finds things very few docs do. About 150 for the hair test and 400 for a consult via telemedicine.

Drink plenty of water, take your vitamins and a hit of pickle juice during high activity days should help the situation.

Ur not alone!  I've had leg cramps lasts minute or two fully convinced a bone could be broken.  Really horrible.

Hydrate more, especially prior to sleep, and NOT coffee, tea or alcohol which are diuretics.

When sleeping make sure your feet are not turned and held sideways by heavy or restricted blankets over your feet which tensions/compresses muscles causing the build of lactic acid which triggers the cramps.

I've also found a normal glass of something like Gator-Aide in the afternoon helps.

Never had the cramps full blown when flying but felt it could happen.

Hydration is the most important - according to my doctor/AME.

Ur probably in your 50s?
