doesnt take a genius to figure out if you're young to make the jump. Captain's raking in over 400k in a year , FO's 225k, of course those are not junior numbers. I don't see any helicopter gigs paying that period! If they do you sell your soul to some foreign crap hole ! But but what if I'm furloughed? Well most that make that kind of coin have side hustles too like rentals etc. those bring in good checks as well. If you're dual rated you run back to a rotor company until the storm passes. It will pay the bills at least. I'll be blunt!, you don't make good money without taking a risk !! |

Why do verterns get in for free? If we as an industry are trying to stop the military vs civilian, why not make everyone pay or nobody because the sponsors cover the cost. |

They get in free because they use the G.I. bill money to get a job that needs them. So the airlines are targeting ex military personnel so it's cheaper to pay for training. I would use the G.I. bill for something else and make the airlines step up the training pay. They need pilots more than we need them. |
