To renew my CFI annually. I still renewed in my base month, at a state sponsored 3 day weekend clinic. Paper 8710, temporary issued at completion of course. When you go to renew online, the start date is no earlier than 90 days prior. Is it possible to start earlier than 90 days prior to expiration?

You need to do your CFI again .... for real lol

firstly you renew you CFI biannually.  If you have any other questions talk to the FAA .. they will be happy to help you.😁

You don't know what you are talking about. You can renew CFI annually. That way you always have 2 years to expiration. You should be seen and not heard. You really shouldn't even be seen.

You can but why would you? If you always have two years but you renew every year just because?

Renew every year, then you have 2 years on your renewal, then 1 year left. A lot can get away from you in a year if you are doing a lot of contracting or road work. Changing addresses doesn't help either.

How bad at time management do you have to be do an annual refresher because you can't budget a few hours over 3 months every 2 years? You're wasting time to make sure you have time because you're so busy? This might be the dumbest thing I've ever read in here. close your mouth and try breathing through your nose every so often.

"Renew every year," yeah that makes sense.  Lets double our cost and work load because we can't quite figure out how to do it within a 90 day window every other year!  You know what else would be bright?  Lets do 100 hr inspections every day, then we don't ever have to worry about overflying one!  Put that in your companies suggestion box, then get back to us with what they say.

With logic like that, you might as well renew your CFI every month, then (and only then) will you always have two years before expiration.

Do you redo your CTS every month so that you always have a year?

I paid $99 20 years ago and I have renewed every two years since for free with American Flyers. I do give them $29 to do the paperwork so I don't have to make a trip to the FSDO. I download the course as I take it so I have a record of all the important stuff one should know. Can't beat it!

If you renew every year you get twice as much value from your $99 FIRC!
