Not sure what part of the heliexpo is the most ridiculous. The Instagram gal with all her peeps or the dudes with desert flight suits packing heat. God knows there might be a gun flight between the Airbus and Bell booth. Never mention the bribe money or inappropriate lavious spending that takes place. |

an alphabet organization. Sometimes good, sometimes not tremendous. If you need to talk to a lot of vendors at one place and time, like equipping a new aircraft, it is worthwhile. Also a good view in to the civil industry if just getting out of the military; gives a view of the variety of one's helicopter flying future, perhaps meet some employers interested in your services. |

Around 2000 the Flight Ops committee got reorganized such that it's control loosened and participation widened in a spectacular fashion. Meetings went from 20 minutes of jabber to great agendas that drew national and international recognition. It became the place to get things done and results to market. FAA collaboration with industry went to high gear. |
