when asked by the President for our opinion to help keep bases in the country from missing flights and less OOS time, was put those managers back on the line in the area's that they supervise...they were hired initially as a Medic/Nurse/Pilot....well maybe if they got off their asses and helped fill in, with the areas they supervise even for 12hrs would be less OOS time...our base was OOS for 3 days for No nurse...our Business OPS idiot could havce filled in since he was hired initially with this company as a Nurse.... the company would rather have them sit at home on their computers and pat each other on the back on what great things they are doing in the company...

I completely agree. The first few years I was current enough I could have filled in. Anymore I wouldn't trust myself. I have different responsibilities now and that's OK. My experiences as Pilot is still beneficial just in a different way. |
