I wear Omnicron and remove them when wearing headset and helmet. The sound from the earpieces distort the sound in your ear and I get "buzzing" etc if I leave them in.

Has anyone installed/modified their helmet with these ANR kits they have available? There one company that does the work for $1400. But the kits for self install are around $200. Results if done so?

Yes have hearing aids. No don't take them out. Put them in telecoil mode and it's like having CEPs. Quite nice. Other oprion if background noise bothers you is turn them down and turn the radios up.

I wear the Phonak hearing aids, I remove them and insert my form fitting earplugs while flying.

No problems with the ICS system, I just turn up the volume.

Wish we had form fitting earplugs back when I was a CE & FE in B & C and flying D model CH-47's.

It's called the volume knob.  Only time I've had a problem was rarely at a high density airport taking directions from ground control - language at 1000 mph - not too hard to get them to be reasonable.
