I see many for sale with low hours  Has anyone flown this model

How is the performance compared to a Jet Ranger

We have 750 hours on one now. It will run circles around the 206B and 206L. Plenty of power, torque is rarely the limiting factor on the power situation indicator. Visibility is incredible and it's much more comfortable than the 206. It's still going through some of the A model teething pains but any new model has to.

Did they ever put chin bubble "glass" in it? When we flew in a demo ship, it didn't.

Why do so few helicopters have the COM1/2 flip flop on the cyclic?

How about zoom in/out from the Garmin on a button on the collective or cyclic?

How about the Master Caution audio reset on the collective or cyclic?

Passengers isolate button?

Or what about a system like on many newer helicoptesr where the ICS system is digital where you can flip through, in order, through COM 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 to talk on different radios without letting go of the collective to change radios?

Too many helicopters require you to take your hands off the controls for things that should just be on either the cyclic or collective!!!

Valid observations, these issues will be eliminated when the AI automated cockpit replaces the human driver.

It's an L4 dynamic system with the Safran engine, pleny of power as compated to the 206. A little quirky with the FADEC and no twist throttle, cable controlled tail rotor versus push/pull tubes take a little getting used to.

Great flyer, maintenance costs still TBD, Garmin, Safran and that "smart"battery gonna be a little more costly than the tried and true 206 series

Seriously? Uh, that would be the parts that the engine turns to make it fly. You know, Tranny, TR gear box, rotors, stuff like dat

Well,I don't know you,not your exposure to the engineering world, but it's a very common way to define the bits that whirl around .

I fly one as my daily driver.  Its a good helicopter, flys well, as other have said, plenty of power, good vis, I like the glass cockpit, fadec etc..  but I also fly a L when i can and I can say the L is more comfortable and dosent feel as cheap as the 505.  You can tell that Bell was shooting for a specific price point to compete with the R66.   In the end its still a Bell, the entire drive train is a 206 sans the engine, But the engine is Turbomecca Safran so its a proven system.

Good data point. Questions, how many hours do have with it and are you involved with the maintenance costs?

Are they inline with the manufacturer's projected hourly/yearly operating costs?

And lastly, are the rotors included in your definition of "drive train"???Smile

TBO sheets and add 20%.  Fuel and oils, add 5%, maintenance, add 20%, everything else add 10% to figures quoted by any manufacturer.  Once through warranty you'll have a really good projection.
