Minimum hiring requirements for former helicopter guys are being reduced as each month goes by. They literally can't hire enough people fast enough. Even if the airlines aren't your gig, people are jumping from other fixed wing job to get there. Now's the time to get your ratings and make the jump. Get off of the "20 years to $100K" track that HAA is taking you nowhere!!! ESPECIALLY in this economy! |

totally boring as airline flying can be I totally agree with you. BTDT in both respects. DO NOT MISS THIS BUS! With a good airline job, however long they remain viable (who knows), an airline employes has #1 - a schedule, and #2 - a life. Doesn't require more to make a decision. This stuff happened in @1963 with the airlines needing pilots thus the creation of Florida Tech etc. to create pilot applicants. Friend was one of the principles on that, and, he got out with what he put in to it, the reality of aviation. What you invest in it, you get out of it. So, be an employee, nothing other, YOU will not make any money otherwise. |

They usually happen as a matter of demographic supply and demand exacerbated by factors such as what you mention, an economy troubled by the recklessness of the CCP government on the wrong tracks which provides a pandemic poorly handled by them and other governments which brought about many early retirements. Can't blame airline pilots sick of decade upon decade of tarmac maneuvers. Drive ya nuts! |
