Big yellow's maintenance training seemed first class the last years of their life. I was a pilot there for many years and did not have any big problems with maintenance.

Always seems like bored pilots reply to these maintenance questions with no idea what they're talking about!

PHi has a good traiining team,(i currently work for PHI). They do all their own training, except maybe the EC145 since they only have a few. One thing they dont do is engine courses as most of the engine work is minor maintenance or complete engine replacement

If you end up working somewhere else after PHI most companies are ok with non-manufacturers training and only require "formal training"

so unless you really want to spend 10k at Bell or Airbus PHI are a good place to go.
(Ive done Bell, Airbus, and Flight Safety airframe courses and they're all hit or miss).

Attending the very first 92 course in WPB Flight Safety.  Them dudes were struggling to put a class together.

Hit and Miss nails it.

Don't expect good info from a course when no one teaching it has even worked on the airframe....or it's so new, no one has had the time to get to know it.

That was the case with the first class.

They sent me back to WPB again years later for a 76 autopilot course.  Much better.

won't make more than a Nissan mechanic, and they have airconditioning in their shops. No night shift.

An ASE certified mechanic could make in a couple days (or less) what most A&Ps make in a week.

The highest 10% of auto mechanics earned an annual payroll of more than $71,940. However, six-figure salaries for an auto mechanic are rare. ... Generally, auto technicians make a decent living, making a median annual salary of $36,600. Besides, most are paid according to a “flat-rate” system.
