I cut my teeth on an F-28a model long ago.    Sad to see that.

Closing and liquidation is considered by some to be bad.

Laid off over 120 workers in the lasty two years.  Stevie Wonder saw that coming.

When purchased by the Chinese, there were all sorts of 'great things' in the works....none of which ever came to fruition

Sturdiest and robust piston helicopter platforms out there.  Probably one of the most difficult companies with the poorest customer service in the industry.  They had one or 2 good guys there like Chip, but over all they went out of their way to be difficult and deny due warranty claims for stupid reasons (like cant read the etched serial numbers they etched even though they had the cards).

The bottom line is their poor busines practices and idiotic lack of service caught up with them as it should have 30 years ago.  As someone else has said, even stevie wonder could see this one coming.

Now hopefully someone will buy it at auction prices and make it what it could be.  Until then, I feel for all those who have one.  At least they have the strap update and don't have to be grounded waiting on Lamiflex bearings to magically appear.

flying the F28C.  Good cruise speed and consumption, comfortable, autorotated like a Bell 205 on steroids.

Was not a good utility machine.  Questionable clutches and some, very little, QC was eye opening.

A design that could be resurrected but probably way too late.  Perhaps adapting the best of its nature to newer machines.
