Msg ID: 2717250 Does Air Methods have in cockpit video like others? +1/-1

Video in the cockpit sometimes gives a better idea of what really goes on during emergencies instead of relying on the memory of sometimes a very shookup crew.

If Air Methods does not do regular checks of video quality the video is probably no good. Some operators have automated video quality monitoring and some companies are too cheap. Like the EC135 a few years where the pilot blew up both engines because he didn't know he put them in manual, Iris video was unusable during the investigation because the camera was so badly out of focus.

Appareo in most of the French helicopters, and most of them sort of work.

It will take a little time to assure what they think happened is supported by facts.  Lot of scrutiny comes with these investigations to assure the truth comes to light.

The current technology isn't half bad. I got an education yesterday from one of our camera experts. Apparently, there's 3 level of data, video, audio, and accelerometer inputs. This event will either make it break this current level of technology. Stay tuned.

This particular aircraft did not have an onboard camera. But with it being intact all the computer data will be downloaded so they will have all caution indications.
