Just my opinion by looking at the photo and with no other details, I'm guessing this aircraft hit something either while landing or making an approach. The airframe looks in good condition for a crash. I'm new to EMS and the EC-135 and I'm happy to hear that everyone survived. 

Well, considering they were still more than 5 miles from CHOP, their destination, I'd say you couldn't be more WRONG.  Appreciate the low effort speculation.

ADS-B goes from 1500 feet to nothing...he got down and got down fast.

Hydraulic?  AFCS?  SAS Actuator? Engine Surging?  Electrical?  Heart problem?

Never know until the report comes out.

It'll get unraveled.  Hope the pilot truly get exonerated.  Appears really lucky, perhaps good piloting in the end.

Looks like a single engine failure that turned into both engines quitting then an auto to the ground in a hurry.

Witnesses and police/fire said fuel was pouring from aircraft. 

if the transfer pump(s) were accidently turned off you can flame out with a full tank.

Are the boost pump covers missing? Can see them clearly in vids

And that may lead to other revelations fortunately, or unfortunately.  Considering human factors and oversights are involved in so many accidents this one will have its scrutiny for sure.

Soo glad I got through 55 years of flying without any problems, well, there was this time at band camp.......

there are documented cases were NVG filters "dimmed" the caution and master warning panel lights and made them "unoticeable" in certain ambient lighting. Plus same for the audio from the warning panel as it went off same volume for radios. This is not the first time this has happened but not necessarily the cause here. Just one guess. Since all the MR blades appeared to be sheared at the rotor shaft that would indicate power from at least one engine.

Whatever precipitated this accident I suspect the pilot was very frightened and making quick, not necessarily prudent, decisions.   But, that's the way it happens for all of us so let's make sure to have a heart and recognize he flew it to a relatively successful conclusion, irrespective of what the final tally comes about as causation.

If such an event occurs to any of us we would certainly hope and actually require others to be sympathetic and helpful.

the blades aren't near the wreck and the blade cuffs and flex beams seem to be cut pretty clean. That wouldn't happen with auto RPM. Will be interesting.

  and training for dealing with unstable engines is one area that is, in my opinion, lacking.

  be a more true statement.  Engine handling is not very specifically taught as a completely separate subject.  Far more complicated than it appears.

Curious to see what happened. The Duke crash comes to mind given a potential dual engine failure. 

If It was an engine problem I hope the good engine wasn’t shut down.At least they all survived.Are the throttles on the collective or somewhere else?

EC 135 has two switches, one for each engine, on the instrument panel, off, idle, and fly positions. The collective also has twist grips for each engine that you can use for FADEC failures or emergencies, but they're not used during normal operations. 

Except Duke was a single engine failure. The second engine was not running due to non mechanical failures

 a peek at some of the videos.  The #2 engine was still powered with the machine on its side - least that's what a couple videos seem to portray.

#2 still running until somehow it wasn't.  That was clear.

After this video and looking at the Fenestron non-damage I will put my money on tail drive failure.

Found the house across the street from the ring doorbell video. About 0.6 mile from the ring doorbell house to the church (straight-line)

The sound in the video has a massive over speed and you can clearly hear the fenestron being driven as well. 

Doorbell cameras have notorious poor resolution and the frame rate isn't fast enough to ascertain much more than altitude over a point in space or speed over the ground. Was there a puff of smoke in the door bell pictures ? 

Great overhead perspective.  Miraculous they didn't hit any of the wires in that intersection.
