Msg ID: 2715168 Geeze, there are a lot of HAA/HEMS pilot openings  +7/-2
Author:out there. What is the deal?
12/29/2021 12:31:53 PM

There are also a lot of well qualified pilots with many thousands of hours incident/accident free not getting picked up.

Are there amateurs in the hiring process of these companies with too much power and "I'm a retired military head space and timing with guilt inferior complex syndrome"?  Or, must a potential experienced pilot have a "registered drunk team member good ol' boy card".  Forget the pilots who walk a straight line...

LOL 😂 🤣

That being said, no red flags on you.  Company recruiters don't like to be laughed at during an interview with a stranger on the phone or vid chat.  So don't worry, it's the industry of HAA top heavy with board members, managers, and hospitals trying to get rich off the backs of kindergarten pilot wages.  Usually if you don't know any better and just starting out in the civie world you are in.

good advice but remember the big difference with respect to flying environment.  Helicopters may be low and slow but the diversity of jobs, mostly carried out VMC, are a far cry from staring at an instrument panel for the next 30-40 years at altitude with little to no total kinesthetic feedback.   Aka, it gets boring, really fast.

Boils down to how much you want to get paid.  BTDT.  Prefer helicopter VMC work but made use of the airline money.  Perhaps 20 years in an Airline then off to have fun.

By an HAA outfit, it tells me that somewhere there are BIG red flags in your resume, amigo. All companies are always hiring for their entry level bases.

That being said, even when there weren't openings all over HR still took forever to make first contact, so maybe just keep waiting?

I've only worked for Air Methods since leaving the Army and I've never heard of or seen that... big company though.  I'm sure somewhere at some time that's been true maybe?
