You said yourself you haven't worked there in 10 years. Ever think things could have changed since then?

Metro is a good company. The current DO seems to actually care about the pilots and stands behind them as long as you are not an idiot. The pay is pretty low for the level of expectation from you, but the benefits are great, the PTO policy is changing 1 Jan, and there are rumors of a pay raise across the board.

I'd say if Metro has a base any where close to where you want to be, I would highly consider them. It's WAY better than any of the other companies I've worked for.

Current Metro employee for quite awhile... Pay is average at best, 5k a year stipend if you don't use their health insurance. Good luck using any vacation... Usually not able to get approved due to lack of coverage. They sell themselves as a "family" but your family isn't part of it I guess. Overall a decent place to work depending on local management.

Over and over they are only doing the job for fun.  They don't need the money nor the health care, again they'll let you know about it everyday.  That's why the pay is for dead carcass bottom feeders and health insurance so expensive.  It's all setup up for retirees who don't need that much money or benefits.

If you live with mom you just might be able to afford to work there.

Been with Metro a long time, good company to work for with

industry standard pay and better than average benefits.

As with all helicopter companies, pilots are years behind on pay scale.

The management at Metro lets the DO/DM do what they think needs to be done.  I like the current DM.  I am not a fan of the previous DO, (who was likely hired to get the contract for the conversions for his previous employer,) and I exited before the current DO.

I hope this helps before it gets deleted.

Metro's owner and family are muti-millionaires and most of his pilots and all of his mechanics are middle class. Unless they are retired from the military. The big issue with asking this question and getting decent answers is that a retired Lt. Colonel or CW4 that works for Metro is making enough to live on and has their medical paid for so why would they be unhappy. They make a wage from Metro, high or low depending on the contract, and they have a slanted view over someone who wasn't in the military. Nothing bad about that but its reality. Likewise if a pilot has been in the EMS business for a while his or her pay is double or triple when they started so life is probably okay for them as they near retirement making way more than when they started. But what about the pilot or mechanic who is 5 years in and is making way less than they should? The mechanic started at $50K and what makes $58, boy that's alot of money in 2021. The benefits are not good compared to other companies. Metro barely matches on the 401K. Vacation is given but you are at the mercy of where you work because it may or may not be covered by other people. The pay should be increased by 30% across the board, by 50% for the maintenance staff. If the military guys don't want it then fine but quit telling the rest of us how great it is.

If you think that you should start at the top, then I am spit-balling that you are one of those that recieves a participant trophy. Just sayin.

When considering a successful company, the owners should be millionaires. Good for them. Keep it up. This is their creation and they did it well. Pilots and mechanics, I am a pilot, are middle-class. If you think differently, do your homework and look at the salary surveys. I know you are an internet guru...just sayin.

If you love the industry and want to be paid according to what you bring to the table, then with your experience, go find a better place for YOU. The industry is saturated, you know, the whole supply and demand thing.

Live long and prosper
