OKC FAA Medical folks will wanr all the ests and particulars, if your case is mild enough, then you may get a special issuance.
I would call the AOPA right now. |

Everyone who retired from the coast guard? They found out that they can claim some additional disability to drain our tax dollars. |

If you fail the sleep study. And you will, as your doctor wants to sell a CPAP. ,You will be out of work for months or years depending on what the small pool of doctors at Oklahoma City have to say.
If you think you need a CPAP. Don’t tell your AME.
My wife is sure I have apnea but I wake up everyday and go to work. |

If you have to start using a CPAP ask your doctor about INSPIRE for sleep apnea
or check it out yourself on Google. I just started a few months ago and highly suggest it
if you qualify. |

If you think you have sleep apnea, talk to your doctor and he will refer you for a sleep study to determine if you have it. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea which was resolved with a CPAP. Flew for 10 years with sleep apnea. Special issuance from the FAA. Never had an issue. Took a little while to get the special issuance when I applied but after that no biggie. AOPA was helpful when I transitioned from the military to the FAA medical certification.
If you have sleep apnea - get treatment. Sleep apnea can cause several serious medical issues, like a stroke. That's a 2 year grounding (maybe permanant if these is damage) and getting your medical back is super expensive. |
