When I look at websites like LinkedIn some of the army pilots list their entire résumé complete with pictures of all their army medals and army schools in 20 years of being an instructor pilot in Blackhawks, in Afghanistan purple heart, silver star....   What a joke.  

All that training all those wonderful skills all that rank all those medals and then they post a picture of how awesome they are flying a VFR Bell 407 for Med-Trans or Air-Evac.  What a joke.

Join the military and do the job for 20, especially the bit about Silver Star stuff, then come on back here and see what your statements about others happen to be.

The military poster is just trying to hang it out to get a job.  What he or she seems to feel is necessary.  They haven't yet learned that less is more, that key words say more than 1,000 words and a whole lot of pictures.

Now and then I shuffle through it.  Amazes me some of the posts, like, "here we are at Billy Bob's donkey Kong arcade, and now we've moved on to Princess Leah's Revival Emporium"; just the stuff we know everyone wants to be apprised about.

I gave it up when someone posted recipes. Good Lord. 

Same stuff at Facebook.  I've an account at both but just as an access portal to links that appear interesting.  Neither is overly popular outside the US.  Too rude.

If you have an accomplishment list it !!  Some people have more than others.  I believe your syndrome is referred to as "Penxx Envy". 

Have to get by the doorman for your resume to count more than a cup of coffee.

I wouldnt worry about what other people do on the internet, everyone is different. You gotta at least consider that guys who go into the Army to fly helos have a lot of courage. There is no guarantee anyone makes it through flight training, and if they get bounced one could imagine having to live with that while completing the four year agreement. There is really nothing wrong with people displaying their medals and honors they earned, and we should all be proud as Americans that have people such as them no matter what they choose to do as a civilian.
