All you need is an ADS-B receiver. The information is free no need for Sirrius XM. https://www.faa.gov/nextgen/programs/adsb/pilot/

You need at least an ADSB out.

I take it you did not understand the OP's question. He is asking about AMC aircraft not having ADSB IN (optional) not about ADSB OUT (required).

You No need ADSB in all classes of airspace.  So you need in G?  E?  D?  Me no thinky so unless heapum big reg change I no aware of.  In the meantime, Ill keep flying without it, and call the tower in advance if I need to go into c or b.  Thanks.

I have had many complaints from pilots when we removed the xm sirrus sat garmin gdl 69 units from our small birds for the lynx 9000 transponder with adsb IN.  the coverage was 110 times better with sat service thru the gdl system unless you were blasting thru under a towering cloud top....but the same wx coverage via adsb varies at different alts and your range to a station putting out that info (ground based) can limit your experience to about 0-10% usage ability.

Our GOM pilots hate it that we ripped their gdl's out for a crappy spotty FIS-B wx service via a small unusable interface touch screen on that 9000.

stay away till it gets better.  keep a sat based unit if you have it and pay the subscription.

Rolling out as avionics update. I've seen 1 with adsb in on 430 with voice. Also GTN750 equipped with Adsb-in. Part of avionics upgrade including new tactical radios and sat phone with gyro and voice recording.

If its a new airframe then it's just an option upgrade from the factory. If it's a retrofit, it gets complicated and costly. My company didn't retrofit older aircraft for ADS-B in. Didn't matter any way because we already have TCAS, XM weather. New aircraft we continue to get TCAS and XM weather in addition to ADS-B in.
