More closely means on duty, than off duty. There were 2 bases I worked at that needed to offer on hitch housing. Not near as much need hor off hitch housing. |

Are off hitch days "Non duty days"? Your fly duty day can stretch to 14 hours. But, past that 14 hours fly duty day, your company can require you to perform non flying duty. So it is better and more accurate to refer to days as on hitch, or off hitch for housing purposes, don't you agree? |

Yes, the base opened at the start of this month. Based in Oracle, so about 50 minutes North of central Tucson. Crew quarters are pretty decent, in a house a ways off from the helipad. Currently the base has some great med crew, great people to work with (minus one person) but overall pretty good people. As it's a new base operating in a new location things are still shaking out as far as whrere they are getting their calls from, and customer relations, but the numbers thus far look good. I agree with the previous post that I'd probably rent if you're relocating, as you never know with new bases. If the base does go south PHI has 2 bases in Sierra Vista that would be maybe 1.5 hour drive. Let me know if there's anything else you're wondering about. |
