Our base recently got a Tiger tugs heliporter to replace our old one of a different brand. It uses two hydraulic rams to lift the aircraft off the ground but the problem is they dont operate simultaneously. This thing will lift the left skid completely off the ground before the right one comes up. This causes it to bind up and make some horrible noises. So far we have been told "thats just the way it is". For as much as these things cost, I have to believe it should be better. Anyone using one have any insight or similar experiences?

Bummer to hear for sure.  Here's a reply to offset the moron's non contribution above.  Might not be a bad idea to document a concern via email.  Would hate to be held liable for sh*t equipment.

is broken but I don't know how to fix it. If you have a mechanic, I would have him take a break from driving around all day and doing personal business and see what the problem is.

That's definitely not right. What type of aircraft are you lifting and which model tiger tug do you have? Are you on flat ground on the lift?

Change Hydraulic manifold (s) and get a bigger hydraulic pump. ( Assuming it electric over hydraulic.)

407, flat ground its the 8.0 heliporter I believe, which should be overkill for a 407. Mechanic is going to try to bleed the hydrualic system. Hopefully that fixes it otherwise very unimpressed with thier product.

ours ran like crap and we changed the hydraulic fluid in it and it ran a lot better. apparently there are different fluids for different climates.

The 4 vertical support tubes (that the HeliSaddles are mounted on) are adjustable in height. Does the Left Front match the Right Front, and does the Left Rear match the Right Rear? If not, the problem is not the tug, but rather the set-up of the equipment.
