Accident was at 0130Z? METAR just before and just after the accident. Nearest TAF at Rochester wasn't forecasting it. I probably would have taken it, too. Why he tried to land there, who knows.

Batavia sits right between Rochester and Buffalo. 25 miles east or west to either one. What I don't understand is why the pilot went to Batavia when the weather was reporting dogsh*t, while both Buffalo and ROC were clear. |

200 and 1 1/2 is doable and safe. Not unheard of for us to do 200 1/2 or even 1/4. |
