Msg ID: 2702594 how is society not gonna feel entitled??? +17/-15

are juicing the system for VA benefits. Guy below has taxpayers hooking him up for life because he flew helicopters. Because he flew helicopters. Read it again. Because he flew helicopters.

Society is just as bad with the feeling of entitlement for handouts.

He isn't an isolated case. Lots of vets gaming the system. There is no integrity left anywhere.

A vet.

And I don't think the VA frequents this particular forum. Try this if you actually know something: https://www.va.gov/contact-us/  You can also find basic information about VA disability. What the entitlements are, requirements for eligibility, and why it's provided.

Otherwise, have a nice day.

People freely admit to getting xx% for this and that and they brag about it. . Other's recommend you get "all you can out of em". Or "all you have to do is say xxxxx and you get xx%"

Tell me you haven't heard any of that nonsense if you are a vet, and you'd be a liar. Somehow we all become elitists when we end our military service. Entitled.

You can only make your own decisions. So what are you going to do now?

I'm not seeing a problem so far. Qualifying for VA disability is not a crime. They have a process for that, and it doesn't include your opinion about whether they deserve it. Neither is talking/bragging about it, although I agree they're d-bags for doing so.

I'll take your word for it that you're a vet and genuinely bothered. But your posts smell more like an anti-vet smear job, or some weird military version of virtue signaling.

You do you. Call the VA or your congressman if you want. Again, www.va.gov has contact information ready for you. But don't waste time getting worked up over what other people do.

you said a whole lot of nothing. Youre probably smug and happy for it but deep down you know there are many frauds out there giving us a bad name.

I see things differently. Smugness/happiness is not part of it. Your posts give the idea that "ALL veterans should be looked at with suspicion because they're probably getting VA money they don't deserve. Except for me." That's a slimeball thing to imply. You made assumptions about someone in the previous post. You don't know him or his medical situation. If he and his doctor lied to the VA to get a claim approved, yes that's messed up. Every group has its turds. But let's not make it out to be more than that. VA disability is a valid program with a process to prevent fraud. I disagree with your cynical view of all vets other than yourself, or that anyone receiving benefits probably doesn't rate it. But your view of things is your call.

You lie to yourself on a daily basis so that you can be "right". The core of societal problems has also infected you.

Sleep soundly, honorable man.

Reality is hard when you have nerves of a nancy and pride like a h o m o. Can't take the rigors of reality so you get defensive.

Take it let on the OP vets.  He couldn't qualify for the military, or his mommy wouldn't let him join.  All that still hurts I'm sure.

If you have a true disability (loss of limb, site, hearing etc.) use it.  Thats what its for.  I had a friend that lost a leg in a CH46 accident.  By demonstrated ability he got a medical and went on to fly commercial.  I wouldn't and didn't question his disability.  When you see some out playing baseball, football or whatever and are on a military disability I will question it.  Its not all Vets our SS system actively recruits people  onto disability.  I agree with the OP.  Its become a social stain on us as a society.

There's a reason the VA docs evaluate us and assign a disability rating. While I don't advertise my "disabilities," they do affect me every day of my life. And they have an impact on my opportunities. (I could never be a hunting guide with these knees, for instance). Mostly it's pain and range of motion. I still choose to be involved in sports, and it always involves a level of pain. The overall benefit is worth it, especially mentally. Get busy living or get busy dying... I've played in disabled veteran hockey tournaments. Some smug people might judge us because we can still skate... if so, f$*% em.

This isn't about legitimate health issues that Uncle Sam caused you. It's about scammers. It's about the lack of integrity in society, and how it's puking itself into the ranks. It has been for years.
