The video is just a little misleading. There is such an aircraft known as the "412EPX." But it is just a regular old 412EP with some nice modifications. It's kind of heartworming to this old-timer to see such a (ahem) "legacy" aircraft continue in service with upgrades and improvements. But can you imagine if we'd sold the Japanese on the Yankee? Minds = blown! They would've thought they died and went to UH-1 heaven.
Oh, by the way, Note 51 from TCDS H4SW (212 and 412):
"Model 412EP, helicopter serial numbers 38001 thru 38999, and serial numbers 39101 thru 39999, represent the productionization of STC SR09600RC (Bell BasiX-Pro Glass Cockpit and Pratt&Whitney Canada PT6T-9 engine) and STC SR09535RC-D (Dual Tailboom Strakes and FastFin System) and incorporation into the type design of the modified lever assembly of main rotor collective control, modified tail rotor blades, modified main gearbox and mast assembly, modified main rotor hub, and upgraded displays. It is designated 412EPX for marketing purposes only." |

Did a demo flight in the 412EPX recently. Verdict: Awesome Not your father's 412 for sure. Hoping the boss can get the board to write the check soon. |
