Did the Contractors get all their aircraft out of Afghanistan ?  There was a photograph of a Boeing 107/CH 46 with an odd paint job, very similar to an operator here in the States.  It was in a hangar.  Just curious .

Those were Department of State CH-46E's. If the Taliban run surplus sales, there should be some good deals to be had!

It was a Dept of State aircraft. Rebuilt and way too heavy to haul much. Nothing lost!

An ignoble end to a noble aircraft, our country is on the same path.

Many Embassies were forced to be evacuated by helicopter. Not just the one swarmed by refugees in Saigon.

The swarming of Kabul airport made the swarming of the US embassy in Saigon look like child's play.

Maybe 2 dozen made it on the last helicopter off the roof of the US embassy in Saigon.

Hundreds made it on to the last American cargo jet.

A few Helicopters were pushed off crowded decks of Navy ships leaving South Vietnam. 
Dozens of helicopters were left behind for the Taliban to use in hanging people from along with whatever atrocities the Taliban is infamous for.

Many other examples make Saigon look insignificant to the mess made by the current regime.
