Lox makes more sense, is easier to install, service. Most companies keep a spare lox for quicker swap in/out.

Fact is a lot of flights don't use O2. LOX cooks away slowly but surely, GOX doesn't. GOX is a lot less trouble and hazard to fill up--Hardest part is muscling the cart out to the aircraft, which isn't very hard. Personally, I'd rather do a GOX service maybe once per hitch than LOX. Also, for any management that's paying attention, GOX has to be cheaper in the long run because your LOX sits in the storage container cooking away...like I say, slow but sure, whether you use it or not. GOX cylinders just sit there full until you need them. |

LOX is the way to go, you'll find that 90% of your PT's don't need to be flown so the med crew puts them on O2 to make in look like they did something, so alot is used unessarally. So you land and the first thing you have to do is fill O2 because the med personal can't be trusted fill it. The concept of knowlege of ," Righty tighty, Lefty losey", are not understood by them. |

and mechanics that I've worked with over the last 2 decades absolutely didn't have a clue how to use a "cascade-style" O2 system to properly refill...The ems guys (medics , at least) have been using cascades since they started ems. |
