Took some time off for family crisis a couple of months ago. Had a hard time adjusting to the non schedule, but after a couple of weeks I started to sleep like a baby. I now eat less, excercise more and feel more healthy than I have in years. While it was suppose to be a few months of leave, I have decided not to return to HAA. I don't miss the job. I may miss the flying at some point but now realize I was missing out on life. YMMV.

Just like Medcrew... could be your calling?

Or become a neighborhood watch COVID compliance police nark.  They gonna start handing out rewards $ like in Australia.

Maybe support an illegal alien family in your house?  Another handout $ for that.

until the matter of money comes up. I guess I could stop eating and drinking and live out in the woods like the local coyotes. But as long as I need that pesky thing called money, I guess it's necessary to do that pesky thing called work.

happens to most who get off the circus horse.  Don't miss it myself, my daily rhythm is pretty much glued to 12 - 8 on both sides, sleep/wake etc. but it is doable in retirement.  The job was my last in just over 50 years of helicopter piloting.  Had much fun, have many stories (most boring but they belong to me), and would do it again except maybe avoid the HAA if I could have.
