... went straight to the non-employee President to complain he was missing 13-cents from his paycheck, and didn't first contact the company to resolve things as required by the Grievance Procedure?   And, that the initial letter from the egotist President to the company exaggerated the number of 'complaints" it was receiving??

Did the egotist President have to file a complaint with the company he worked with about his paycheck?

happens when the CEO has a clue!  Good on her.

All that wringing and wrangling betwixt union and company from 2003 onwards was nothing short of slap-stick comedy and a waste of millions.

Union didn't catch it first, MEMBERS did.   Certainly the President didn't catch it first, since he doesn't even work for the company to get a "tainted" paycheck to have figured it out himself.

And, the Grievance Procedure REQUIRES the individual FIRST notify the company there is a problem, and only gets involved if the company doesn't fix the problem to the satisfaction of the grievant.   Then, and only then, does the UNION get involved.

So, the President must be hyper-exxagerating the story for his ego!

lots of members (as claimed in the email to members) before an error in the paycheck was actually issued? Why do you claim in the letter to members boasting the UNION'S hero role for saving $0.13 if no error had yet occurred? Why are you on here bad-mouthing the company you voluntarily resigned from to go work for their competition?

AMC management keeps their heads straight.  Reasonable pay raises and work conditions just happen to be the price of business.  It all starts at the top and the new CEO, like the poster said, deserves primal credit.
