Just ran 100 rounds through my new PPK/S 22lr.  Smooth as glass, no failures, very good accuracy.  I really like this pistol.  All metal; rock solid.  With the New Federal Punch Defense rounds; 29 grain nickle plated, 1070 fps from  a 2" barrel, 10+1, I do believe this is my new carry.  I'm sure the 380 is worth looking at, but this is what I'm going with.

Yea, I know, the bigger the better, but this little gun is so much easier to handle and carry, it will be with me a lot more than my CZ 75.

Zed

If you want to admit carrying a .22 unless you're a frail little girl.

Nobody wants to be shot with anything, .22LR included.  They are lethal

I used to carry a 38 snubby in my helmet bag, then a 327 Federal magnum six shooter (LCR), they were just for survival while walking out, noise makers really.  Good for Wolves or Cats

I did have some vandalism to a 205 once, cost me two days flying, but I would not have shot them.

No flying lately.

The gun you're most comfortable with and shoot the best is your best choice. I have a friend who used to go off into brown bear country for a week at a time with just a back pack and a .45 ACP. That's not the traditional brownie stopper, but it's what he felt comfortable with. It's a lot better than fingernails and harsh language, and a hand cannon you can't place shots with isn't much good, either.

Deer were taken with it, and other animals a lot larger than rabbits.  What ya call avoiding overkill.

Like the man says- a pea shooter in hand is better than a cannon at home.

Never denigrate the 22LR.  The aphabet agencies consider it their professional assassin's weapon.
