While I agree that things are bad, and that new leadership and a new direction are needed, you couldn't be more wrong about the "core business" thing. HAA operations have the core business of medical transport. The first word is medical. This is a medical transport company which happens to use helicopters as the means of transport, it's not a helicopter company that decided to pay for the aircraft by charging medical service fees. Most HAA pilots just don't get that. It's because they are used to being the center of attention. |

Someone will tell you its providing patient care while transporting patients. The leaders, other than the regulatory required ones, all have medical background so of course we are a medical company. Its a way of pulling power and control away from the aviation folks... |

This is typical of many helicopter companies from the EMS and O&G side. People get into management by nepotism, not because they know how to run a business. It shows when you actually need business skills to survive when things get dynamic, and the business suffers or is lost. What a shame. It's easy to be profitable when your industry is doing well and profitable, but when you need to be diversified within your scope and be efficient, then back stabbing, getting even with those under you, or kissing butt is not going to cut it. So here you are. |
