Just think how annual raises would be distributed if it were based on performance. All of us that were going the extra mile to stay in service would be getting the bulk. The incentive would be worth forfeiting the "lazy surge bonus" |

someone. Going the extra mile, oh dearie me, u speshul.
For over 20 years our base pilots have been within 5% of one another on almost every thing measured, and, a base doesn't last 20 years by schrewin' up. One guy was always cancelling, seemingly on whim. He didn't last long, the hospital pointed to him - voila, gone. Shame because he had a family.
BTW, there are all sorts of ways to make it appear one's performance is remarkably better than other's. Can see through that from miles. As long as the individual is safe, liked, and doing the job he or she is usually given a pass. |
