Google is lacking but what type of cost difference between these three after an ems configuration? Also how many H145's are in the usa doing ems? I know of the 4 Boston medflight aircraft. Google gave me this
135-$6.2 mil
145e-$8.7 mil
H145-$9.7 mil |

My point is those google numbers are probably not accurate for a completed EMS interior aircraft. People here might have better insights on recently delivered aircraft that they could share a more accurate price. there is also another question regarding how many ems h145 aircraft are in the USA besides the 4 in Boston. |

They guy asked a question - He probably has a need to know. Rather than show how unemotionally intelligent you are, let someone answer the question.

I'm not sure there is a way to figure out how many are action operation without calling airbus. You can go to each EMS company website and look at there programs to find a close number. Cost? No idea. Call metro or AM they build all of them. Good luck. |

4 years ago our corporate H145 was 10 mil complete. Prices vary depending on how they are configured and who does the completion. There are 6 in the US that I'm aware of flying EMS. The 135 is a POS not worth any amount of money IMHO. Hope this helps. |

is a good IFR machine. Slow, but if you wanted to go fast, you wouldn't be looking at Airbus. |

There are a whole lot more than 6. AMC has around 30. Metro has a bunch too. I don't know the actual number. Call Airbus. I don't know the completed cost, call Metro or AMC who does conversions. |

Sadly, all the 145 owners of the world could have saved 2m per airframe and accomplished the mission with far less downtime and half the doc.
Shhhh
It's a secret at Airbus..... |

For the Northeast United States, check out alecbuck.com Alec Buck's EMS Helicopters. Last I checked the list of HAA bases and aircraft are pretty accurate. |

maybe you guys should look at the BK117-850D2, best for the bucks and just below the performance on the 145, just my 2 cents |

I have a fare amount of SPIFR time in EMS and good amount of it in the EC135. In the early days it was a mess with something failing on a lot of flights. As the air frame matured it was a good IFR ship, not great because it could not carry the fuel weight you would like to have. Also full four axis auto pilot was much appreciated when shooting an approach at 03:00, or flying back to back approaches in a big city. For the numbers guys EC135 was great compared to the larger ships. Numbers guys don't fly IFR at 03:00.
Retired before getting into EC145 but have IFR time in; BK's, BH412, BH222, BH230, S76 |

is functional though I don't care for its payload vs range and some silly over-engineering. The145 with 4 blades is worse in turbulence than BK though it is allegedly just another BK modern variant.
If you need 145 size aircraft look elsewhere - waaay too muchover engineered bells and whistles, as in troubleshooting can really impact mission availability. EC and their fascination with technology rather than the reality of functionality. Sad preoccupation. |
