What are some companies doing to combat inflation. If a person can make 30 dollars an hour at Starbucks, why would they want to fly?
More responsibility, less time at home, much much dangerous.
Across the board there are major changes coming, just not sue they are the right ones..... |

If someone wants to work at Starbucks, then let them work at Starbucks. $30/hr is OK money but that is probably the most you'll ever make. There is more potential money flying helicopters, even more flying fixed wing and a shed load more if you want to be a neurosurgeon. If someone is pulled away from their desire to fly by a $30/hr gig making coffee, then maybe they weren't cut out to be a professional pilot. I personally don't want anyone out there flying who isn't committed to the profession. |

If you are only making 30hr to fly then that is your fault, at a minimum you should be at least making 50hr, but you are the one that took the job for 30hr. |

Typically utility guys make $50-$150 flight hour depending on the helicopter and the complications of the work. Seems you’re doing something wrong there son. |

AMC Starting pay 69-73K is equal to 30ish dollars an hour.
PHI, Bristow, etc are all around there right now even for offshore.
There are only a few companies paying for good quality pilots.
Also some of those companies have gate keepers keeping out pilots due to hiring practices. IE- if your not military, or a certain group of utility. You are not getting even though you might have more experience or be a better pilot.
Sometimes its who you know, not what you know....same goes for skillz---pilot skillz that is |
