Actual first responders are those who call 911 after the fact. If you expect Police to help you in an emergency ... you are a fool. Fire department to help you? they'll arrive many minutes late. Ambulance? Also many minutes slate.

1. shoot the attacker .... or

2. dial 911 and help people out of fire and start fire fighting immediately on your own .... or

3. dial 911 and drive yourself to a level 2 or level 1 emergency room while getting or giving first aid. You'll be there before they even get rolling. Get to a lower level care facility and if you survive, you didn't need emergency aid anyway!

So, Home Depot is just giving 10% to anybody .... means their stuff is overpriced anyway.

First Responders ... a term that has now stretched itself to the guy who drives the girl to the workplace where she's the secretary to a guy who is HR in a place that sells N95 masks to wholesalers who sell to jobbers who sell to local governmnet agencies ..... just sayin, few are first responders, most are support staff to the one guy who does the work...

Did my 25 years LEO and retired with a good pension. You know, back when men were men, women wore skirts (as did J. Edgar....), and when the cops were called, fit reasonably intelligent, honest men responded. Now "first responders" are frequently out of shape, or downright obese wannabe mall cops, hired for their "diversity". They are drunk on power, even a small town 3 man department has a friggin "SWAT" team. We called them the SayWhat team back in the day. By the time they arrived, set up a command post, called in the "negotiator" and developed a plan; the bad guy(s) had died from hunger, self inflicted wounds, or fell asleep!
