What would be a busy month for an HAA operation? 50, 100, 150? What location or operation would you consider to be the busiest? We're flying about 500 hours a year. Seems busy to us. Just comparing. Thanks

AMC cornered the market flying people out of the rez into town, and eventually it caused all 3 bases around said rez to close down. Oh well. Now I'm lucky to hit 30 flights a month at my base and enjoying life a lot more.

The base I used to work at would fly 100-120 flights per month in the busy season, which was summer. And would fly 70-80 in less busy months. We called the summer season the trauma season, and volume ramped up quickly starting around mid-May to September. Our average flights were from 0.7 to 1.5 round trip. It was common to fly 2-3 flights per shift.

We fly maybe 10 flights a month if we're lucky. But that's because the hospital system we work with sucks and doesn't know how to properly use a helicopter. So we sit here in our trailer enjoying all this free time while the program brags about having a helicopter that our community rarely sees. Easy retirement job but the younger pilots who want to build flight time can't handle it and don't last more than a year.
