What is the highest gross pay you've gotten or heard of a helicopter pilot making in a year (as a helicopter pilot, not as a day trader, side business owner, etc.)? Not talking salary, but the gross income box on the last paystub of the year, which includes mileage, per diem, and overtime. |

Personal = 2016 OCONUS 194k That dried up, back to 90-100k EMS :( Heard of = Few of my friends fly in north east with a few private coroporations and they are around 190-220k. Don't ask them about their schedule.. they don't really have one.

Very similar to the above poster. Offshore overseas IFR Capt 2013 - 2015 grossed approximately 200k per year |

Made $325k per year with 52 days leave out of country--it was a good deal until tax time rolled around. My wife had a good year and made a little over $200k, we wrote Uncle Sam a nice check in the final tally! |

Why should per diem and mileage be included. They are for expenses incurred and not part of max gross pay. I never made a dime off of expenses. OT hours should be stated. Different quality of life for a guy who makes $100K a year with no OT compared to a guy making $65K base but earning $100K after working mega OT. Salary survery like yours skew the facts and make it look like average income in the industry is highes than actual. |

One simple question, and now it's a survey? I'll tell you why I asked for gross pay: Ease. The only other option would be to ask for FIT taxable wages, which would require math to add in non-taxable deductions like 401(k) contributions.
