Airplanes and helicopters, 135 was just one Cessna 340. The rest was flight training in SEL/MEL and R-22's.
Maybe three rotor wing and six SEL and one MEL
My salary also included travel and expenses paid by company.
It was in SoCal, and my house cost 150k
Any more honest salary quotes coming? |

That's $110k in today's dollars, so I guess we'll have to wait for the first honest one as piston pilots don't make anything near that. And why are you telling this bs story again? |

No, it's not a BS story. I negotiated 1000 a week flat rate. My travel and expenses were put on a company American Express card, and was paid by the company, since I travelled outside the country at least three out of every eight weeks. Europe and Asia, where we had sattelite offices procuring students.
If thats equivelant to 110k in todays dollars, I guess I should have asked for more, because I see that position today worth around 125 to 150k.
Sure, it was a sweet gig and it lasted only a year and a half. The Yen went down in value, their market dropped and the company closed up shop. |

U R A Idiot. who said I flew anything anywhere? R-22's were just another helicpopter back then...prior to SFAR's when newbie pilots started training newbie pilots and those with more mpney than sense started crashing them like a demolition derby. Haven't flown one since the SFAR was implemented. Saw it as a Frank ploy to make more money while convincing insurance companies not o kill his cash cow by refusing to insure.
Sorry that you can't believe that you only get what you negotiate, not what you want or desire..
I didn't need a job then and do not need one now. Plenty of retirement income and investment income then and now.
Now go back in your boy-cave in your mommas basement milennial. |

Swear to GOD, true story. Okay, in 1962 I was chief pilot at a hot air balloon factory in Bogata Columbia. We made the balloons out banana skins and cocoa leaves. We had one balloon on charter. They gave me American Express travelers checks to cover the cost of hot air, extra banana skins and young male prostitutes. I lived in a hut that cost me 12 cents a week. I lost my virginity to a native boy that then became my lover for 8 wonderful years. He was killed in a balloon accident when we were sold defective banana skins which caused a catastrophic basket failure He plummeted to his death along with 17 Japanese tourists. I moved to Torrence California in '74 and became Frank Robinson's chief test pilot, felator on demand and gardener. I retired in 1998 and can't remember the rest of the story due to advanced dementia. Next. |

I guess "if it ain't on google or wikipedia, it's not true" generation; wallowing in their socialist lives, cannot comprehend any other world.
BTDT and have t-shirts older than R-22 Alphas
Yes, I have time in more rotor wing airframes than you can name in thirty seconds, and time in fixed wing aircraft you have never heard of. It's good to be old and not expecting to have to deal with what you'll have here in the USA within twenty years.
I'll just drain the socialist Social Security coffers with my maxed out monthly check, my tied to inflation government pension, free VA healthcare and medicare for life, and all the socialist programs on the horizon ... then I'll say "Peace Out Dudes, sucks to be you!" |

The bottom line was that I was being paid by a Japanese based company. 52k US was nothing to them with their YEN value at that time. They did the conversion and said "Sure, that's a pittance in our money"
Then when their bottom fell out, so did the company. |

there was no "Japanese company"
there was no collapse of the Yen at that time or really ever
companies don't pay people more because of exchange rates. The school would be making money in dollars so this doesn't even make sense.
I doubt you've ever even had a lesson |
