Anyone have the details on the "Strike Team Pilot" position?

Strike Team Pilot: $22,750 stipend in addition to current base salary. The schedule for Strike Team pilots is a 14/14 rotation.

Is this a float position? Thanks

Not a set 14/14 schedule. You go where and when they tell you with 24 hour notice or you are removed from the position. No mileage or per diem. Capped travel assistance pay that YOU make up the difference out of that so called stipend. you Pay for travel and meals and they run your life. Sign up. You'll love it.

Ok, I'll take the bait, what is a "strike team pilot"? So many jokes for this phrase! Kinda like "defenders of tomorrow"(?) or "beyond the call".

What a joke they are. "Strike Team".  GTFO with that psuedo-military stuff.

You know, either corporate AEL really believes that pseudo-militaristic dramatic make believe, or they cynically believe the troops actually believe it. And it’s just possible that the people they have doing it do in fact actually believe it. You know—Adrenaline Junkies! Seconds matter! Around the World, Around the Clock—Strike Team! Like, staying up late in the hotel room ironing the flight suit, waxing the helmet, and putting a high gloss shine on those zipper leather boots!  Oooorahhh

if seconds mattered they wouldn’t fly the slowest dang aircraft known to man. I can paddle a boat faster than a 206 can get there . A 206 has no business flying patients in 2019. AEL needs to move on , it’s not 1979 anymore.

The strike team is a group of pilots, mechanics, and clinicians that go to set up new bases. So in addition to the negatives mentioned above, you also have to deal with that...

Career. Nothing could be further from the truth. Go do some actual research on trucking. You are way better off as a pilot despite what you may believe. Fairytale nonsense.

you don't have known crew member credentials for security and no crew member gets early boarding unless they're working the flight.

I have seen it with my own eyes, the young stud with the "Strike Team" patch travelling in his flight suit and boarding when they call  for military personnel.

If you have a carry on, you have civies you can travel in.

Go ahead and make the jump to truck driving then. Real life experience is the only things that will convince some. Check back in two years and tell us how awesome truck driving is. How rich you have become and how you should have done it years ago.

Set up as group to help start new bases and then fill in where needed. The pilots who take the position for the most part seem to enjoy it.  The 14/14 hitch works for some

I haven't talked to a strike team guy yet who doesn't prefer it. 14/14 with a $20,000 stipend. And despite what was stated above, I'm about 85% sure AEL pays their travel. Their main function is to open new bases and fill in where Area Pilots cannot. They used to function as a sort of standardization department as well, but I think that sort of went by the wayside awhile back. 14/14 not for me, but works for some.
