offers everywhere.   Didn't use to be the case, but sadly the slide to mediocrity at PHI amg was a quick one.

That's what we get when it's run by medical weinies, completely clueless about what it takes to run an aviation company. God I wish PHI gulf would take over running the aviation side of AMG.

AMG is a self stated health care company now. Helicopters are nothing more than a necessary nuisance.

The answer is simple. Below industry average wages, less than 1% annual raises, subpar benefits. If you're going to interview with AMG, ask to see a pay scale. There is very little wage growth before you top out.

Mechanics can leave PHI AMG and go to work for the company that PHI contracts to do the maintenance that isn't getting done because mechanics are quiting and get paid more with better benefits.

I quit because they didnt do what was written in their GMM. They said its a suggestion but can be changed on an individual basis subject to management discretion.  Pay sucks, (geographical pay). Rarely see management but they call all the time wanting statements about why aint this done yet. Good maintenance aint cheap and cheap maintenance aint good.  I'll go to work at a chinese massage parlor as a mop boy before i'd go back to PHI air medical.

I bet the FAA would beg to differ on not following the GMM. Obviously depending on the PMI/ASI following the regulations

It's difficult to run when they shoot you in the foot with policies and procedures.

the should get rid of policies and procedures. You should be able to do whatever you want whenever you want. That's the way all the good companies do it.

Five years ago you couldn't find a PHI mechanic who didn't sing the praises of their best of the best employer.  PHI paid the best and, as a result, attracted the best.  Mechanics were promised industry leading pay, a cost of living increase every year, a pay grade step increase every year, as well as location pay for high cost of living locations.

Fast forward to two years ago.  These same mechanics were suddenly told by upper PHI Air Medical management that they were all overpaid...by as much as a third of their base salary.  "The market has changed" they were told.  Step raises, cost of living raises, and location  stipends vaporized.  Not seeing another pay raise..EVER...is the reality of many, many mechanics with PHI Air Medical.

New pay scale dropped early October 2017. Where is the biannual/24 month review, as promised?
