Msg ID: 2599128 Am I a member of the crew? We shall see +5/-5

So, last night the med-crew decided in mid-flight to intubate the patient. I said I disagreed with that judgement, citing the closeness to the receiving facility and the likelihood of a less than desirable outcome due to the cramped work area and inability of the two morbidly obese crew to work closely in that environment.

THEY DID IT ANYWAY even though ONE SAID NO! Are we equal crewmwmbers or not?

I gave my contact info to the patient's family members in case they decided to sue for maplpractice, since the patient's condition was rapidly declining.

You are one stupid SOB and should stop flying since your judgement and reasoning skills are terrible.

You are just the driver.

You are not a member of the medical crew and probably do not have an EMT or Paramedic certification so your statements were just, like, your opinion man.

The overall risk of complications from tracheal intubation is 39%, but the mortality rate for intubation complications is only 3%.  (Griesdale DE, Bosma TL, Kurth T, Isac G, Chittock DR., Complications of endotracheal intubation in the critically ill. Intensive Care Med. 2008)

Yes, it was a troll, and the med-crews obviously bit.

So, ---I'm not a member of the med-crew, just the driver, but the med-types are members of the flight crew and have a say in my driving?

Stellar trolling, sir, simply stellar. I can't believe you actually got a couple of the baggages to take the bait. That was great. Even one of the seemingly more educated ones... it went right over their head. "Wull actually, according to the study by Haywood Jablomee, the rates of..." hah hah hah!!!

Remember this moment the next time a "medical-passenger" decides to pull out his/her aviation weather app on their phone and tells you "I think it's fine to go!"

problem is they have no skin in the game legally thought they act like it.  Annoying and distracting.  Spent quite a few years in HAA and glad to give some rides to higher level of care but wish to heck I never had to 'get along' with the majority of the medical types.  Just a bunch of academic weenies on their way to flashier crewmember flight suits.

The problem at our base is more along the lines of them pulling out their sh-tty phone app (with obsolete and often inaccurate data) and using it as an excuse to decline. As I've often said though, no bigee, explain the weather situation to them accurately, ask if they still feel its not safe, then document it and go back to sleep. I don't get paid to educate medcrew on meteorology or persuade them to have a decent work ethic.
