just seeing most want to blame this on everything and everyone other than the irresponsible decision of taking the flight if he/she was experiencing fatigue. Pay attention to yourself and your MED crew and be the decision maker we are paid to be.

Isn't that easy.  The individual who is fatigued will be the last to recognize it...

Flew all night on a winter time shift, 2 scenes and a transfer......1.5 hours left on shift, got another scene call, turned it down for fatigue - I was reprimanded, given 5 days off without pay, and was told only medical types could call fatigue, not pilots.

Sounds like a garbage company. Do tell which one, if this actually happened.

In the mind of management the pilot should be fresh and ready for a 12 hour shift where the the medcrews run 24.

As usual we are held to account when no one else is. Part of the job I guess.

I applaud you for calling it when you were too tired.

I think we have all had nights where coffee was the only saving grace.

if you’re too tired to do a scene call, call out of service. When you wait for a call and then say no it looks bad.

The company may want to sit down with the pilots and explain what the standards are and what is expected.

Or just give the offender5 days off and make the other pilots pick up those shifts........that’ll teach em!
