I make around 95k a year on a no stress 14 and 14 schedule. With at least one day travel on each end, that means I am away for 384 hours .... okay, I'll give back the travel days (everybody travels a little, right?) Now we are back to 334 hours away from home. I'm therefore putting myself away from family and home for a salary of $21.69 an hour. Home Depot management position is looking better every day!

Now if I deduct the money I spend foolishly on internet stuff while I'm sitting there bored to tears ... I may be paying to go to work!

All the days are in the year, that's how many.

Do you think tht the time you are required to spend at  a base in order to be ready for the next duty time is your own time?

There's a reason that overseas deployment jobs pay so well, they own you the whole time! Just like when you report to a 14 day hitch.

You are not qualified to work in management at Home Depot. Move closer and stay off the internet.

You can not get the HAA pilots to unstand the hours worked they just look at the hours they fly. The correct way to look at it is they are being paid to wait and be ready to fly so therfore they are at work.

We are paid to be at work, fly or no fly. I picked that up pretty fast as it‘s not terribly complicated.

You make $95k a year, get 2 weeks off every month and have no stress! Tell me again why you are whining?

Just pointing out what we should all remember. Apparently though, one or more doesn't get it.

BTW, I am qualified for management at Home Depot; granted that doesn't require much.

As for moving closer ... Anybody who relocates to a third world country environment for a job that is always on the verge of going away or moving to yet another S=Hole, is out of their mind.

Live where I want, and work where I must.

You’re the one that commutes.

You‘re the one that only makes $20 an hour.

You’re the one that works in a place that they don’t want to be.

You are telling yourself how crappy you have it but I don’t really care about your problems. Sorry, not sorry.

I live 15 minutes from my base and I was already here. I’m sorry for your situation but not all of us can’t figure this out.

You must have had a long career in retail before flying because you don’t just walk in off the street and tell them to give you the manager job. Lol

You’re the guy that says all the helicopter jobs are going to get dumbed down so 150 hour pilots, being closely supervised, are going to fill them after they fire everyone. Amirite?

get to the base”at least” and spends $40k a year internet shopping. Dollar General management material, really, but that’s probably a stretch.

Home Depot doesn’t send you a check to sit on your duff though. They actually expect you to work. Neither do they continue to send you a check on your 14 off, nor do they pay you to be on JH. You work half the year, get paid a traditional salary, and are still complaining???

The fact you’re only making $20/hour can only be blamed on the guy in the mirror.

Get a second job or start a business. You’re wasting half your life and opportunities on your 14 off.

Exactly how much do you think you should make on a 14-14 GOM flying job?  Not a troll, just a question?
