I am considering purchasing a Gall LH250 helicopter helmet. I have heard they may not meet US FAA requirements for government work, and may become a problem for civil pilots also.

What seems to be the issue?

The MSA Gallet is no longer on the approved list for OAS.  If you already own one, you will be able to use it for about two more years.  I forget the cut-off date.

There's nothing wrong with the helmet other than it was not made by Gentex nor sold by G&B when they made the deal with the Govment.
