My first job flying, $2,000/mo. for a 5 month contract, 12 hour days, 6-7 days a week, no benefits, boss was the worst human being I've ever met. Driving a semi, $21/hr, year round work, 8-9 hours a day,5 days a week, full benefts, 2 weeks paid vacation, paid holidays, paid sick/personal days, 401k, boss was a really nice guy, no class A license required to get hired, training was not only free, but got paid during it, regular pay raises every year. This was an entry-level job! Didn't have to live in North Dakota!

You don't go far enough to log so you will live in the truck most of the year to make that and rarely sleep. It's a miserable existance. Don't even think about it. And you will probably not make anywhere near that.

management has done to the aviation industry, all through it, is really creating havoc.  Working in it whether airline or helicopter or whatever is becoming a job not many are really interested in.

So why would a current truck driver not move or transition to North Dakota for the 130K?  Must be because they already receive that or more.?.  Next time I drive past that rural trailer with the tractor/truck, broken down trampoline and rusted out 1980's jalopy with weeds over growing it, I should ask them for employment advice?

Fact is if a helicopter is needed what you will be doing either sucks or the environment sucks, or both suck.

Very few if any vacation spots utilize helicopters - savve maybe Hawaii and all the rest which will undoubtedly be posted in a few minutes.

There are cool challenges and all that to flying helicopters but your life will probably not be nearly as such.
