FYI for those interested...

First year FO pay at Piedmont was just increased to $49.** per hour.  The current upgrade to captain is around 18 months (1000 hours part 121 time) and that 2nd year CA pay is $78 per hour.

The pay at the regionals continues to increase if you are still considering making the leap to the airline world.

Safe travels my friends,,,

That 5 days, of which you’ll have 2 slots (10 days) turns into getting about half the month off. As for the idiot below, as the others have said, upgrade is not ‘automatic’.  But when you do, you’ll be making more than a lot of helo jobs any work over (as EMS guys like to add) and you’ll be making more than most helo jobs, with an opportunity to advance in this industry and make $ like not helo guy will.  Cue the music for how boring 121 flying is from the guys spending 1/2 the year in a recliner who have never done it...

is interested in airline flying go for it.  Don't play around with the decision.  Never seen a more solid opportunity, ever, for airline pilot careers, and making money.  If you have a family, seriously consider it.  This is far better than what happened in the early sixties (ah, as in 1960s).

  • Upgrade to Captain as soon as you reach 1000 Part 121 hours

No review of capabilities, check-rides, attitude, skill or knowledge - just an automatic upgrade at 1000 hours?

Remind me not to fly on this airline.

You realize they send FOs to upgrade training which culminates in another set of evaluation events when they become eligible for CA, right???

it's marketing for, "when you hit 1000 121 you are eligible to bid for upgrade. Then you must pass training, check ride, and FED line observation."

Avoid what you want. You're obviously lacking a few brain cells.
