Would you support a national organizing effort of the HAA Pilot industry to increase wages and benefits on a national level that would balance the strength and power of the pilots and the company? A collective effort to bring true industry standards to the HAA pilot profession. A mass participation rate would yield reductions in healthcare costs, pension and 401k contributions, standardized safety and representation for local and federal levels, and drive up WAGES for everyone!!! It could be unified under an aviation council or committee that each certfiticate holder pilot group would have representation of their individual company pilots, but would assist as a clearinghouse for information and standards that could be used to bargain and enforce each collective bargaining agreement.

Would you support something like this, or not? Please state why.

Because a bunch of twits would seize control and use it for their own personal gain like what happened at Bristow and the other unions.

things staying the same and everyone "thinking" they know what each vendor gets and has; only to find out that all the cmpanies conspire to bracket this industry within THEIR parameters, and WE pilots are doing nothing to swing the pendulumn. A national organization would make ALL of the vendors information and details available to the other vendors and create a true "industry standard" giving us all have more leverage when bargaining contracts and if it ever came down to a work action or strike.

Power is in the numbers.....

Thought, that’s what the Union was for?

In reality the union could careless about their pilots, they just want part of your salary.  Sure you might find a few decent stewards, but the union management is in bed with the companys management.  The PHI pilots demonstrated they were not willing to collectively walk off the job years ago.  That weakness told all HEMS pilots were pay to pay check ball-less wonders who were all mouth & no butt. That inaction set pilots back 30 years imho.

The HEMS industry is in trouble, the scam of billing people $40K for a helicopter ride over a hangnail is about up and so many other sectors are paying their people a great deal better than the HEMS operations are.  Look how many CFO types are taking the money & running.  This monster has been bleed about dry.  The industry is being mis managed out of business by people who talk a great game but in reality they are like Congress enriching themselves on others people’s backs.

The pilots will never stick together & the operators know it.

If 109's performance and, culture over the last 12 or so years is any indication of what one can expect out of your "national effort", thanks, I'll pass.  Dreamers vs. Realists.  I'm w/ the latter.

Very pleased with the new leadership at the local 109 and the direction they are going. If the 109 is an indicator of things to come now that the good old boys are gone andf they have they drained the swamp than I am ALL for a national organized effort for the pilot industry.

How would organizing the whole industry like this keep health care costs down? You're going to give a bunch of thieving individuals the go ahead to take part of your wages and when you're on strike you're out of a paycheck and they are drawing a wage based on membership money.

or, you could stay in and read more. it’s not legal to “organize” employees in this manner, i.e. outside of an employee entity, that is, a company.

yeah, go ahead and try to organize 4000+ haa pilots in a hundred different operations across 50 states for...uhhhh...nothing tangible. it amounts to being a member of save the whales...

bud, here's a pro tip for you: it's not possible to organize 10 u.s. helicopter pilots who just spent three days in death valley for a brewery tour.

oh and as far as moving along, thanks for the invite but unless you're a town cop trying to enforce a vagrancy law, i'll just stay right here and be a nuisance as long as you are clueless.

look at it this way, it's job security for both of us.

No way! It seems every time you HAA types have problems you think a union will help. Surprise.. they don’t mostly because very few of you are willing to walk off the job before the blades quit turning.

If all 135 certificate holders were required to participate in some bogus salary/benefits leveling it WILL eventually include ALL 135 certificate holders that is just how the FAA works. I for one of many, hate new stupid stuff forced on us non-HAA types by your astonishingly  poor safety records and amazing death toll.

If you can’t negotiate the wage you want WALK!
