That boat might average, what, 50 kts, in the open ocean, if its lucky.

"... a few hundred miles..." is, what 200?  300?  400?

50 kts, into 200 miles, is what?  4   Even you can do that math.

So, that's 4hrs, 6 hrs, and 8 hours, respectfully.

Times that by 2 for a ROUND TRIP fishing expedition.

Open panga-style boat.   No cabin.   No fishing gear.   No hint of fishing rigging what-so-ever.

Now, you're trying to convince people here (helicopter pilots), that he was just "out fishing"?

There is nothing about that boat, or its MO, that comes close to fishing!
